Be sure to test your code on your own device before you print! Nothing worse than having to print again.

Your sign needs a line behind it

With NextMe, guests scan, add their name and get a text when it’s their turn. Scan the sample to try it.

Before you use your sign

This is a courtesy design tool, provided as-is. You, not NextMe, are responsible for your sign, its code and where it leads, including signs that are damaged, altered or covered.

The QR codes do not expire, but NextMe doesn’t host or maintain them. Each one works for as long as its link does.

Let guests join your waitlist with a scan

With NextMe, guests scan your sign, add their name and wait wherever they like. When it’s their turn, they get a text.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a QR code sign?

Pick what the sign is for, paste your link and write a short headline. Then print it, save it as a PDF or download a PNG. It works with any link, it’s free, and there’s no sign-up.

What should a QR code sign say?

Say what the scan does, not just “Scan me”. Use a headline like “Skip the line” and one sentence on what happens next. On a waitlist sign, you can add three short steps: scan, add your name, get a text.

How big should a QR code be on a sign?

A common rule of thumb is that a code scans from about ten times its width. The code on a letter-size sign here is about 4 inches wide, so it reads from 3 to 4 feet. Use a poster for longer distances, and a 4 × 6 or 5 × 7 card on a table.

Does NextMe host or track these QR codes?

No. The code holds your link directly, so nothing passes through NextMe and nothing expires on our side. It works as long as your link does, but you can’t change where a printed code points. This is a courtesy design tool, provided as-is, and you’re responsible for signs made with it.

How do I stop someone covering my QR code with a fake one?

Check your signs often. Scammers sometimes stick a fake code over a real one, a scam the FTC has warned about. A frame or an acrylic cover helps.

Where should I put a QR code sign for a waitlist?

Where people decide to wait: the entrance, the start of the line or the host stand, at eye level and in good light. Avoid glossy laminate, which can glare.

How does a scan-to-join waitlist work?

Guests scan, add their name and get a text when it’s their turn, with no app to download. In NextMe this is self check-in, on the Starter plan and up, and free to try for 14 days.

How do I get a QR code for my NextMe waitlist?

NextMe gives you a QR code for your self check-in page. Find it in NextMe under Settings → Self check-in, and use that one on your signs, so every sign leads to the same place.
